Wordless Wednesday: Lieberman Rocks the RNC Posted on September 4th
In any other year, Joe Lieberman would have been turned away at the door and then busted for trespassing.
This year, however, things are different. These are different times, and John McCain is clearly a different kind of Republican. Just last week, he rocked the world by choosing ultra-conservative Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running-mate, and less than a week later, he has left-leaning Independent Democrat Joe Lieberman rocking the Republican National Convention for him — and drawing raucus, wide-eyed jubilation from conservative crowds.
“If John McCain is just another Republican, then I’m Michael Moore’s favorite Democrat!”
Lieberman was by far the most anticipated speaker Tuesday night, and he didn’t disappoint, taking Democratic nominee Barack Obama to task for his record of partisanship and lauding McCain for his record of reaching across the aisle. It was a magnificent moment in American politics and one history will remember well.
